Does anybody know what this fish is called??? It’s cute as fuck
I love when they let me hold them.
I really do think, Pat, the Vinegaroon, is one of the coolest arachnids I’ve owned yet. Kenny has been away in NY filming for a couple months and I purchased Pat while he wasn’t here. I showed him and his reaction was “what in the F*$#@& He$$ is that thing??!” Ha. Then he was like, does it bite? Nope. He’s harmless. He can shoot acetic acid out his bum in defense, which is where they get their name. Ken was very interested in finding out why Pat doesn’t do that to me. I guess Pat likes me and doesn’t believe I want to eat him.
Nature’s Little Shop of Horrors…..
A new moth species? No. This hawkmoth has been parasitized by an Akanthomyces fungus (a Cordyceps anamorph) until it caused it’s demise (seemingly during a normal resting period) and totally consuming and mummifying the corpse.
I still have this guy sealed in a container precisely the way it was when I found it……

Hello, little Solfugid!
These are mean little buggers, non-venomous arachnids, beneficial, ugly and harmless! I love when I find them.
Neil DaCosta - Astronaut Suicides (2011)
“Imagine after years of study and dedication to complex classes of mathematics, physics, chemistry, astronomy, astrophysics, engineering, etc. .. and of course a good physical preparation, you get up in the morning, prepare your coffee and read in the New York Times that ‘NASA will not travel into space again.’”
